Ali and Brittany are a multi-racial Muslim couple raising three foster kids.

They've faced many challenges when it comes to foster care including culture clashes; parenting a drug-addicted newborn; and getting their families to accept their foster kids.

Bonus: Aubree and her wife Laura are white women raising black foster kids in the New York City area. Aubree shares really poetically about what that's like.

Ms. Brittany’s Village

Brittany and Ali run a licensed trauma-informed day care — Ms. Brittany’s Village — for children ages 12 months to 5 years in Commerce City, Colorado.

Their day care was featured in TIME Magazine.

Brittany says of her day care: “My greatest passion is instilling joy and a lifelong love for learning in young hearts and minds. I have a master's degree in early childhood education and am a certified teacher for ages 0 to 12. I have loved learning about the growth and development of children and the importance of nurturing little ones from birth.

After spending years in the classroom teaching and learning, I am so excited about this incredible opportunity to work with your child in a smaller group setting! Your child will thrive in our early learning program focused on cognitive, social-emotional, and physical growth, catering to the whole child.

My husband and I work together to run the program. We are both certified foster parents informed in trauma care and infant/youth mental health and will use this experience to create a positive environment for little ones to grow and develop.

Our program offers play-based centers with small group learning, a huge green space, and a playground for daily outdoor exploration. It is so fun to work one-on-one or in a small group setting and develop important lifelong skills like independence and healthy peer relationships. I can’t wait to cherish your child like I do my own and foster a deep sense of loving to learn!”
