Foster Care Training

mattie2.jpg

Mattie Baker (MSW) founded Fostered Connections to use her lived experience and personal expertise to support those involved in the foster care system with holistic trainings..

Mattie earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Denver and also works with those experiencing mental health challenges and substance use disorders.

Through these experiences, Mattie has learned that behavior is a form of communication. Not good, not bad — but at its core, simply information about what we need and don’t have.

To learn more about Mattie’s customized foster care trainings for individuals and organizations, visit fosteredconnections.com or email mattie@fosteredconnections.com.

Foster Care Articles

Mattie Baker wrote these articles when she was just 18 years old and fresh out of the system to help train foster parents and volunteers.

These articles are full of tips to help us avoid our own needs getting in the way of meeting a foster kid’s needs.
